1991. My parents were living in a small appartment while my mother was pregnant of me. There was no cable. One day, my father decided to buy a NES. He was playing with my mother in all their free time on Super Mario Bros. My family has always been great gamers. My aunt was one of the best Mario Bros player I had ever seen. My uncle was a beast in Punch-Out!!

On my third anniversary, I almost died of an asthma crisis. My father feared to lose his child. He took many days off from his job to take care of me. When I left the hospital, he bought me a SNES with Donkey Kong Country. I was very happy. Everyday, I was spending my time bashing crocodiles and gather bananas. My father bought me every DKC game on each Christmas. I remember me sitting on his knees while unwrapping my presents. My SNES collection continued to grow, with titles like Super Mario Kart, which brought me many hours of fun with my mother. And then, Super Mario World. This is the last game I played with my grandfather before he died of a cancer. I made the promise to buy every 2D Mario game after that, in memory of my dear grandfather.

I remember the first time I played Super Mario 64 at my daycare center. I was like "Oh my... I love that game". I always wanted to play to this game when I was going to my daycare center. My best friend's parents were owning the place at that time. They were very stiff and mean. I was allowed to play only one hour if I had made no mistake in my homework. Each time I committed a mistake, I was losing 15 minutes play time. I became a champion in spelling because of that. I never committed a single mistake because playing Super Mario 64 was a reward for me.

When I say they were mean... I really mean it. You know what they were doing when a child was crying? They were muzzling it. They were yelling on it. When my mother bought my blue N64, I refused to go to my daycare center. My mother told me "Why?" I answered "You bought me a N64, I have no more reason to go there." I never told my mom they were battering the kids in there.

I bought Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, DK64, Banjo-Tooie and so on. I played through all of those games. The year my father bought me a GBA, he broke up with my mother. I owned every Mario Advance games of the serie, then I lost my GBA. I was very sad. I gave my SNES to a little kid who was asthmatic just as me. I thought it would made him happy.

Then came the GC era. I was playing often with my girlfriend on Mario Kart Double Dash. When I finished the game, I had so much fun that I was looking on every forum to see whether or not they were planning to release a sequel. I searched for more info for about 2 years and then got tired of it. I tought they would never bring another Mario Kart title.

Then the DS came with Mario Kart DS. I was so happy! My sister and my brother bought a DS and I bought their games to play with them. Then, coming from nowhere, I saw the ad about Mario Kart Wii back in 2008. I wet my pants. I bought a Wii to play this game. Then I discover the masterpiece of Mario Galaxy. The summum of Mario platforming. I had a thought for my grandfather

My first experience with Nintendo came as child when I first played Donkey Kong in the arcade. This was when arcades were filled with several amazing games but to me, Pac-Man, Space Invaders, and Donkey Kong were the ones that truely stood out. It was because of the way that it was easy to understand them and you could see the goal, even though it was extremely hard to reach at times. Despite the difficulty, all of them had a great core gameplay mechanic and made you want to put in another quarter after the Game Over screen read. This type of gameplay is still evident in several Nintendo games today and has never stopped. Example: World 9-7 in New Super Mario Bros. Wii might have been a real pain to beat, but it was extremely fun trying to figure out how to pass it. It's about having fun, instead of being just frustrated and not having fun which is the status quo for several games these days.

Since the early days I have owned all of the Nintendo home consoles, bought any game with Mario on it, and defended them through their highs and lows. I have gotten into several arguments with Sega and Sony fans over the years and still sometimes do with Sony fans. :p I have jumped on many Koopas heads, blasted several Metroids with a beam cannon, saved Hyrule numerous times, and have gotten perfect scores in Pilotwings, but the most important thing is the fact that I have always enjoyed myself in Nintendo's worlds and will always come back.

I'm not the type of guy that wears Mario underoos or that collects plushies of Yoshi, but I like to visit their world daily, if only for a brief moment.

Also, GoldenEye is the greatest FPS of all time and was exclusively on a Nintendo system.

Pixel Art can be fun.

My vote goes to amp316... his Nintendo 64 collection is massive. He even has the courage to own Superman 64.

Bet between Slimbeast and Arius Dion about Wii sales 2009:

If the Wii sells less than 20 million in 2009 (as defined by VGC sales between week ending 3d Jan 2009 to week ending 4th Jan 2010) Slimebeast wins and get to control Arius Dion's sig for 1 month.

If the Wii sells more than 20 million in 2009 (as defined above) Arius Dion wins and gets to control Slimebeast's sig for 1 month.
