Have any G-fans on here seen Godzilla 2014 yet? What did you think?

in Movies Discussion on 19 May 2014

They pulled off the 'human side' just okay, it's not terrible, but is still kinda dull, I'd much prefer less talking, more Godzilla, over all a fairly good movie though....

So I just figured out an ultimate try hard build to troll people and thought I'd share in case anyone else is interested: Stats: Mundane build, with enough points to power stance Avelyn Weapons: mundane Santier's Spear, two mundane Avelyns Rings: both illusionary rings Strategy: because your weapons are invisible, your opponent does not know what you are using until you attack, start...

I think the difficulty of Dark Souls 2 is fine, From Soft needs to find the balance between retaining hardcore veterans and not pushing away potential new players, NG is easier, but NG+ is lot more difficult and players have the option to make game harder through champion covenant and bonfire ascetics. The biggest let down is the boss fights, there are a few good ones but I think many bosses...

However, I think that dex this time around has been designed to go along with poison and bleed damage.  As for quality-like builds, I plan to experiment a bit more with dual-wielding dexterity weapons (I have two berserker blades, which I'll...

so how do you guys think about the physical scaling ? in case you still do not know, strength scales almost twice as much as dex, here is a complete guide that pretty much spots on with my own tests. my guess is that this is done to balance scaling's DPS, since stregnth weapons are alot slower and consumes more stamina, a C scaling in strength gives about as much damage bonus as an A scaling...

for me moveset > damage, unless it's the difference between one shotting and two shotting an enemy, damage means nothing, if you still have to kill an enemy with 2 hits anyway, what does it matter how much damage you would do with a single hit ? Claymore has one of the best movesets in the game, especially two handed attacks, R2 has a spear level of reach and R1 is still the trusty horizontal...

I've only finished NG+ once, I'm still making new characters to experiment with weapons and spells (early game mace power stance OP btw), trophies are really easy to get anyway, just play through the game normally once you'll get pretty much everything, farm mad warrior and falconers for convenant spells, then run to NG2+ and buy the few hard to get spells from the chancellor dude and you're...

So I just did some research about new metagaming, what I have learned so far: Soul Level 150 is the new standard for 'legit' builds (for now), I still think it's pointless since match making is not done through SL, the increase in SL is for Hex and Quality builds to have more HP and agility, which is also kinda BS imo since these builds have better offensive options so they should have worse...

I'm almost done with my first play through (finally!). King Vendrick looks depressing as fuck but is actually super easy, killed him on the first try without getting hit once, died on the final boss because I did not expect curses, kinda cheap if you ask me. Anyway I only have Darklurker and the final boss left to kill, will probably finish it this weekend. Overall a good game, I especially...

finally had more time to play, I was feeling rather confident so I went and joined the champions covenant, then the royal aegis douche one shotted me like 5 times, I might just be tripping but I think there is something wrong with the hit box of his big mace, I would swear that I timed my rolls perfectly, but sometimes when I touched his mace at the end of his swing animation and it still did...

Anyone else thinks that boss fights in Dark Souls II are too easy (spoilers) ?

in Gaming Discussion on 27 March 2014

Update: Smelting Demon killed my like 20 times because I tried to bum rush it to keep Lucatiel alive for her quest :-D. The bad news is I wasted around 150K souls on weapon buffs and fixing life protection rings and still didn't get it (eventually gave up and killed the boss on my own), the good news is now I can literally dodge most of its attacks by sound alone +_+ Other than that stupid...
