So how much does releasing a console first in a generation relate to sales?

A 3m lead is nothing for an entire years worth of extra sales. Put the PS3 and 360 in an aligned launch and it shows, the only reason the 360 has a 3m lead currently is because it's been out longer. Other than that the PS3 has outsold the 360....

I don't get the Kinect, so far what i've seen it looks like it does a similar job to the eye toy - except instead of showing an image of you it creates a 3d model. The only games it might be decent on is ones like those found on the Wii, i can't see it being much use in hardcore games like Halo, Gears of War, Call of Duty, Forza, Final Fantasy, etc. Also why all of a sudden does everyone want a...
