Now that the new Nintendo system has been unveiled, I wonder if...or when...john lucas will grace us with his presence and explain why itīll sell a bazillion units.

      x
240 million units lifetime, incoming! I already wrote it on his wall. I sometimes wonder what happened to his time, he seems to have plenty of it for discussions on other forums. I'm guessing we'll get some sort of crazy thread and prediction where it was all part of the master plan all along. The Wii U set the stage for the NS or something like that, making consumers accustomed to the tablet controller, associating Nintendo mascots and IP's with mobile customers and then this; it was all planned, perfectly at that. Wait & SEE. Just WAIT. &. SEE.

It was decent.Iīm not digging the Skyward Sword like style for the new Zelda, but Iīm interested in "the Skyrim approach" to the game. And definitely interested in X.Next year is PACKED!

So, are you pleased with the digital event?..you got to see X.

      x
      I got what I wanted!

Overall, it was fine. A decent balance of stuff, albeit little of it particularly awe-inspiring. Worse was the fact that just about everything was 2015. I also am now waiting for the 3DS presentation, because if there isn't a flood of announcements in the next few days then I'm deeply downgrading them...

      How about you?

      on 10 June 2014

      x
Oh good. Thought they were skipping the 3DS mostly. This news makes me happy. Ninpie as well I think.

      on 10 June 2014

      x
I'm not sure how many games they're announcing though. There's at least one, but they need way more than just that.

Hey Ben, how are you?...can you share anything about whether or not thereīs some excitement (thatīs translating into sales, of course) for Wolfenstein and Watch Dogs?...does it look like theyīll do alright?

      x
Hey, doing good! Wolfenstein is looking pretty slow as of right now, but there's not a whole lot of competition on next gen consoles so it could do alright. Won't be a massive launch or anything. Watch Dogs is performing pretty strongly for a new IP. Honestly reviews are going to be crucial for that game. Some titles like COD it doesn't matter but given the huge delay, a lot of customers are somewhat worried. All in all though Watch Dogs should do very well on PS4 / X1 unless reviews are awful.

John Lucas once again disappeared...think he might come back around the time Mario Kart releases?

      x
Not impossible, unless he's busy in another forum. :P

Hey, congratz!...on that link from Amazon I posted, in just a few minutes the system once again jumped to the top of the best sellers list, thatīs why I was saying 'hurry up'.

Congratulations again. In some places, the system is as elusive as the Wii was.

thx for the thoughtfulness, but i live in europe so the US version wont do. Besides , it gets really pricy with customs.

Still too little information on 'QOL' for me to form an opinion, but to start, I guess they realized the (blue ocean) audience that made games like WiiFit/Brain Age/etc a huge success...are not coming back on the Wii U/3DS, and will try to get a new blue ocean through QOL.

If it works, it gives them some breathing room when shit happens with the gaming business.

I just read that Malstrom article. It all basically comes down to, whenever Nintendo strays too far away from their roots, and wants to "be a part" of the Game Industry, they get fucked.

It is no coincidence the system that returned to those roots (Wii) was their most successful home console since the NES.

I agree with him, the Wii U is an anti Wii, the mirror opposite, so itīs not surprising the system isnīt doing good...though, I must say the extent to which the system is failing in the market has managed to surpass the worst expectations I had.

      x
Yeah, it's amazing (in a weird way) just how hard the Wii U is failing. It's pretty much a straight continuation of the NES>SNES>N64>GC decline. It's as if the Wii never happened.

Yeah I saw it.Thanks for the answer.I didnīt remember you had interviewed Malstrom. If you could do it again, thatīd be great.
Unlike the Wii, he doesnīt like the Wii U, nor he is optimistic about it.He questions why they never really followed through with the 'revolution'.

      x
I'll answer your post about Sean Malstrom after I finish my reply to Mummelmann. If I were to interview Malstrom again, there's no doubt me & him would be at odds on the Wii U subject. Would make for a fun conversation, wouldn't you think?
