I haven't read those EA comments yet. I'll take a look later. But know that no one has reported any of those EA comments to us. So none of the mods may have even seen them. Let alone determined that there's a problem with them. As for your first question, it could be considered a similar circumstance if the aim of that comment is still to get under the skin of Nintendo fans. But regarding EA, the fact that none of those posts were reported, or any EA related posts that I can recall since becoming a moderator, kind of paints a picture of what we consider targeting a large group. If it's something that no one to our knowledge is bothered by, then it's also not a problem for us here, is it? |
If I'm get you right, since it seems that nobody likes EA, it's fair to write posts against EA in a flaming and antagonistic manner, but as soon as someone else uses the same tone of flaming and antagonism against something that triggers the feelings of members and/or the feelings of the moderators, then it's set to a kind of flaming that is not tolerated.
So, flaming and trolling on VGChartz is not only based on the actual wording of the post, but the number of complaints and if the post has triggered someone?
For example, saying that "Nintendo doesn't care about AAA titles but celebrates it as soon as it gets one" is flaming particularly because there's no evidence (as you said before), however just posting that "EA is all about money" without no evidence is not flaming, because none has complained and obviously no mod care about EA at all?
So, it seems to me that I could've used a similar antagonistic joke against EA and not get moderated. My mistake was using the beloved Nintendo and it's beloved fans.
God bless You.
