I'm going to have to agree here. The OP clearly is on an anti-Microsoft rant and brought forth thin arguments to the table to try and justify blind hatred. Here's where the true colors of the OP came out. I'll bold everything that was outside of the forum rules and am going to bold, underline and italicize the most unnecessary comment:

well then get a 360 if you dont care about better graphics, sound and game length! that makes no sence! dont tell me that the extra space on the discs hasnt made games longer. Resistance... looks almost identical to Gears just less fake shinny effects that make you glow in the dark but the game is 2 times as long with a meaningful storyline. so your saying just because you dont want all of these things, 1 person doesnt want these features that they are forcing them. i think its alot better deal to "force" it then have half of your systems be obsolete when you release a new system every year. caugh caugh microsoft. the fact is, more people want high def games with better sound. it makes the expiernce much better. why would you not want the extra space of bluray? even if you dont like MGS, they filled the whole 50 gigs up and said it was not enough! how does the future of gaming on the 360 look with less than 10 gigs! bluray would have been a waste if it was added strictly as the movie player because it would have just jacked up the price but it has made the gaming expiernce considerably better and it will only get better and better with time. as in ps3 games will keep growing as 360 games wont. what would be the ideal media for games for you?

Again, no space increase has ever increased the lengths of games. The average RPG was 40 hours on the SNES, and it is 40 hours on the PS2. Adding content is harder than adding graphics, so they add graphics because people like it. Side note, MGS4 was too big for a 25gb blu-ray disk. There has been no reports on how well it fits on the new 50gb discs. I will be it won't last more than 20ish hours for gameplay too. Not that it is bad of course, but that is just my guess. My ideal media is actually a catridge. I never did like the switch to optical discs. I like saving straight to the game, and the feeling of putting in catridges. I am nearly alone in that desire though.

For all the extra power of the PS3 supposidly it has had a lot of trouble distancing itself from the supposidly inferior Xbox360. They had a more expensive machine that was a year newer in design and they cant do much if any better than the xbox?? Sony failed as a hardware company. Its obsolete and falling fast now compared to the technology out there now.

For all this considerably better stuff, why does the Xbox360 sell at about the same rate as your "obviously better" PS3 in the U.S.A? Blu ray wasn't added to make the games division better, it was added to improve the bottom line for the whole of Sony. The PS3 can barely render at 720 for most games that count, so its a far cry from actually really wholly taking advantage of Blu Ray. If I had a choice, my PS3 would have come with just a DVD player and a MUCH better GPU. I hate the Blu ray for what it did to what could have been a superb technical masterpiece.

well thats your opinion about graphics. about the ps3 failing... the ps3 is in a better position than the 360 was after a year of being out. more consoles moved and less failed systems. bottom line, more money made. and thats a weak arguement saying that oh if ps3 is so much better why doesnt it look better?! well ok let me explain it here, if you develop a game using 360's tools and hardware and port it over to the ps3 it never looks as good. of course not it was designed for the 360, completely different setup. the ps3 has proven itself. resistance was ps3's launch title and it was almost identical to Gears. like iv said before, little less shinny but the game was longer and less glitchy. about the 1080, ever heard of GT5P? im playing that in full 1080p and it looks DAMN good. another way to look at the situation is system life. you cant even argue that having bluray wont make ps3 last longer in this generation compared to 360. what about more recent games that have come out. before now most games have been a shitty port off the 360 and no one expected them to look any better but now games are starting to look better. COD4, GTA IV is a pretty good start for being two HUGE games. with future games coming out like MGS, GT5, resistance 2, motorstorm 2, killzone 2 which all look stunning, its hard to not say that the extra disc space and more powerful CPU wont put these games above the rest.

whats also funny is how you say its obsolete... then why is it selling MORE systems consistantly every week than the cheaper system?! plus the system was already made when the 360 came out, that extra year was to make sure it didnt have a 50% failure rate. well worth the extra time if you ask me.
