Forums - Nintendo Discussion - RUMOR : Nintendo Direct for the Feb. 13th

It’s over due at this point. Looking forward to it!

I am a simple man. Pokemon, SNES or any other platform's games, Final Fantasy, and a surpise Baldur's Gate will please me.

I want to be surprised though.

Hopefully it's true. We need release dates and we need to see Animal Crossing and Pokemon Gen 8 in action.

Dont expect for Pokemon. Usually its Gamefreak that uploads a video a couple days or weeks before e3 to showcase it for the first time.

And its not good to dump everything in this direct. Because it allows other smaller games to get its spotlight.

Pocky Lover Boy!

They have to wait a few weeks after NSMBUDX before announcing 3Dworld/MarioMaker.

Nov 2016 - NES outsells PS1 (JP)

Don't Play Stationary 4 ever. Switch!

Chances are this is true since it’s King Zell, who has correctly predicted MANY things and hasn’t been wrong so far.

Fire Emblem will be there, Animal Crossing will be there, Shin Megami Tensei V will probably Be there (especially since the producer said to wait a little longer for news in early Jan) and Bayonetta 3 will most likely be there.
Metroid Prime Trilogy would be most welcome.

I also expect some Wii U ports, GTA V, MAYBE HOPEFULLY Witcher 3, Spyro Trilogy Remakes and hopefully a trailer for Nintendo’s big holiday hitter that isn’t Pokemon, assumimg they have one.

I'm hoping we at least get a teaser for it, though I don't expect we will see a full reveal until closer to E3. Sun and Moon got their teaser reveals in February 2016 as I recall.

Pokémon announcements for the mainline series, even if they are just teasers, happen only in Pokénon Directs, Nintendo and TPCI both understand a Pokémon announcement would make disappear any other announcement in the same presentation no matter its importance

Not going to spoil in case people don't watch the video, but a BIG meh. If the leaked games are true, I'm really disappointed.
Just waiting for the already announced games, those are at least new games.

Bets with Conegamer:

Pandora's Tower will have an opening week of less than 37k in Japan. (Won!)
Pandora's Tower will sell less than 100k lifetime in Japan.
Stakes: 1 week of avatar control for each one.

Fullfilled Prophecies

As I have been saying since December, late March, around GDC and just before they kick off the new fiscal year.

I don't really see much point for a Direct in February, to be honest.

Im still gutted the 7.0 update didnt add Snes games. Switch is beginning to look really lame for a 2yr old console. I mean ps4 we get games like MGS V, Mafia 3 and For Honour. On switch we get some 30yr old pixelated game. Wow thanks. Its not like the online store isnt full of pixelated garbage anyway. Can you tell im mad lol!!!!

The issue here is also a lot of Nintendo fans will not buy 3rd party games so we don't get that many announced. We are at the mercy of Nintendo to release something to feel the voids. They can't keep that void filled on their own.

At the same time some of the games being skipped is justified as the carts situation has made some developers cut corners and make you download loads of GBs to actually get the completed game. Makes it annoying and not wanting to own those games. I personally would pay more to get the full game on a larger cart.

The last few Nintendo consoles on reflection kind of feel like they come out of sync (because they needed to launch something rather then wanting to at the time) and 2 years to early or so or what would be the ideal period to meet Nintendo's full vision. Wii for example, was great but motion plus come out later. Imaging if that come out at launch as default. WiiU tried to do something great but failed and Switch kind of did what they wanted the WiiU to do. Now with the switch the OS is lacking (i.e. game saves tied to your system only), the game carts issue is causing stupid release were its just a launchers to install a digital copy and the dock really is nothing beneficial to the system in terms of specs. I honestly thought the Switch dock would be the Supplementary units that they patented before the switch was announced.

Thats a seperate issue, and kind of mute atm anyway because games like skyrim and fifa have broke a million, and all 3rd party seem really happy. But games that would actually fit the Switch like GTAV (even 360 version) Witcher 3 and the sublime Hellblade, just aren't coming. The problem for me right now is the lacklustre OS, terrible outdated online from not being able to message friends to rubbish free games to no netflix.  I mean its been 2 years since BotW, why no sequel using Botw assets and engine? Ubisoft can bang out a new massive AC every year or two. Im a long term Nintendo fan but im beginning to falter.

The dock was a wasted opportunity it should at least have upped the power of the console or made it run quicker, even plugging a laptop in does that and i agree they feel out of sync now. They should just make a console on par with with Xbox and PS then scale back their own games to suit their needs if they don't want to make 4k games etc but at-least it would be possible to port to.

Well they cant really wait late March if they have some April/May releases, so mid February totally makes sense, especially because new fiscal year starts on 1. April and focus of Direct would be from Yoshi release, so from late March probably to around July.
