it doesn't sound like much but 40% marketshare is a huge difference then 35%.

Not really, you're acting like he said it will undoubtedly reach 40% marketshare when he said its something he could see happening.

This is your problem that you never learn from, just like last year when you kept harassing Benji for saying Nov NPD COULD be close and PS4 won by a big amount.

You should really learn what the words could and might mean and not ignore it when people say them.

I'm not really saying anything about matt, so i don't get the comparison. its a prediction, and analysts get things wrong all the time. As for benji no point in beating a dead horse.

Yes you are, "hes on the Switch hype train real bad".

I feel that he is, but nothing wrong with that. he expected switch dominate ps4/xb1 in 2018 from the very beginning of 2018.

It will depend on three things. Pokémon, smash and price. How much switch sells is down to them. That software chart doesn't make sense to me, if he expects the switch to make up for the deficit with PS4, to make up for what it trails and which no doubt my increase between now and October. November and December are huge and that's when those three factors will come to play.

It will be Interesting to see. Sony have Spiderman in September and RDR2 in October. I think those are enough for Sony to win both of those months, but their effect going in November and the holidays will be interesting. No doubt RDR2 will be a massive console seller for Sony, but how aggressive will they be during black Fridays and the holidays price wise?

I don't know man. We all know that PS4 didn't sell to its full potential last holiday because of low stock so we don't know exactly how much a $199 PS4 would sell without stock constraints.

It is certainly a plausible prediction but I would put my money on him being wrong once again.

This assumes Sony sits back and does nothing. And knowing how Sony has been the past few years, it is probably true.

If Sony really wanted to push shipments, they would announce it in their FY and we would know that they would be aggressive with price cuts. Unfortunately they will just standby and reap temporary profits over potential future profits.

On that note, still unsure of when Nintendo will pricecut Switch. The answer may be surprising. (this year or never would be quite surprising)

Ya its hard to tell with Nintendo, personally i dont see one this year but i do think we will start seeing them release bundles with a game and online trial for $299 starting in Sept to build momentum going into the holidays.

Perhaps we will see some Black Friday deals where retailers throw in an extra game or accessories to existing bundles.

Having Smash Bros and Pokemon both on the holidays will definitely boost sales. Moreso than any price cut. This is the first time Nintendo has released TWO big 10+ million games on one holiday and on one system. It might do better than people think.

Switch is 9th generation. Everyone else is playing on last gen systems! UPDATE: This is no longer true

I think Pokemon+Smash+Bundles could give Switch one of the best holidays in history.

It may not be the fastest selling but second fastest selling losing out only to the Wii after just over 16 months on sale is a great spot to be in, in USA at least.
