Because this doesn't look just like only WiiU/3DS version of Smash Bros, and because not everyone had 3DS and especially Wii U.

Not everyone, but it’s still a big install base anyway (like 85m). The game is also the best selling of the series. I hope it’s new btw.

Considering it looks like BOTW Link, and Nintendo showed us a shiny new logo, I think it's a new game:
