What amazes me about the comments in this thread (and many others as well). The common talk is that in November and December the X1 was at most $349.99 with 2 games free (both games deemed as $60 games as well), and most of the time the X1 was really even lower then that at all retailers. While at the same time the PS4 was always $399.99 with 0 games and never offered with any additional items or on sale at a lower price at any retailer.

Well that is just bull isn't it. Walmart had the PS4 at $329 for a few days for example.

I think that was his point...

from the discussion here you'd think the ps4 had no offers at all and the ONE was given away with fries.

To correct thx1139, Xbone was 329$ with 2 games worth  60$ each. Some retailers were even giving more discounts such as target giving an additional 40$ gift card with a purchase of the 329$ Xbone bundle.

The actual Xbone console price was less than 200$  with all those deals.

doesnt stand a chance.

if you say so.

but im glad we all agree its about price now.

Yes, in the sense that XB1 needs to be cheaper than PS4 to sell more (and include at least two games and maybe some gift cards). If it was only about price they would've sold the same amount when they were both $399 but we both know that was far from the truth.

Now that would sell a lot more consoles than we saw

I have PSV at a little more than 2m sold and less than 400k sold for the whole year.

How does that sound?

How does that compare to 2013 sales, do you know? Probably down, right?

Yes, but the difference is MS said this was a promotional sale of the XB1 so people of course jumped on it thinking this would be their only chance to buy it at the low price. Then MS lowered it again after a couple of weeks and talk about a promotional sale again to try to do the same. Sony never officially dropped the price and gave value by adding games. There's a difference between creating 'panic buying' and 'offering value'.

The PS5 Exists.

Yes $50 off a $400 product does create panic buying.  Hows Kelly?

$70, 2 games and a gift card in most cases.
