Forums - Gaming - COD4 graphics - not that good?

this game has great graphics but not like what some people were making it out to be

Around the Network

Looked fine when I played it on a HDTV. Well, the smoke was still pixelated, but it's smoke for god's sake. Slowdown was only during air raids or helicopters on a lan game as well.

Didn't particularly enjoy the game, and the sprites kinda made me feel like I was playing Counter Strike, but to call it ugly would be foolish, as are most graphics comparisons. It really seems to me like a dick waving contest when you're both 6 inches.

See Ya George.

"He did not die - He passed Away"

At least following a comedians own jokes makes his death easier.

This game doesn't look bad at all. Is it less than what was originally touted by Infinity Ward? Yeah, probably. The game still looks great, though a few things like the blowing paper look downright ugly if you stop to pay attention.

Luckily, most of the time you're too busy running like hell to notice little stuff like that. Overall, the game really amps up the intensity on a surround sound system with an HDTV. My new 50" TV with surround setup had me reeling at points in the game. So much is going on that at times, you feel like crawling into a corner and hiding a la that loser character from Saving Private Ryan.

The game looks stunning.

Playing at 720P on a 40" Panasonic HD ready TV with HD cables it looks absolutely beautiful, massive draw distances, dynamic lighting, depth of field, etc.

Unfortunately on a SD TV it does lose a lot of the finer details.

@Rocketpig- I noticed that blowing paper, it looks dreadful :D

I'd like to take this moment that breaching buildings with night vision and laser sights on the weapons is incredibly awesome. It's a blast running around and seeing your squad moving around the building with their laser sights on.
