Forums - Nintendo Discussion - New Pokemon is a Reboot?!

http://www.animationmagazine.net/article/11120

According to this Pokemon is not recieving a 5th Gen, but a reboot instead!

Then again I think this writer was misinformed, you be the judge.

2010 Hardware Sales Predictions

Wii: 20m- Sales will drop, but not by much.

PS3: 13.5m- It sold 12m in 2009, its only common sense it will sell more this year.

Xbox 360: 11m- It sold 11m in 2008 and 2009, I think it will sell the same.

My Fanboy Speech...

Why do you have to make excuses to defend a product that you purchased, but that's the only connection you have to it, you don't make it, you don't lose or gain money on it. I don't see where all of the defensiveness comes in, there is no reason for you or anybody else to feel obligated to defend it. Now I would understand if one of you were a developer for the product and you slaved over said product only to hear somebody call it stupid or a piece of junk. But none of you developed it, none of you are mature enough to realize that. Choosing a product all comes down to preference, you chose said product because it is best for you. Simple as that!

a reboot would seem like a HUGE step back, especially if they reboot from the start, less then a year after remaking Gold and Silver

Reboot? Hm...............I don't know.

Could this mean a repeat of GBA from GB? Gold/Silver could not connect to R/S at all. D/P will not be able to connect to the next gen games................just something to think about.

According to a report on the official Pokemon website, franchise owners Nintendo are planning a completely new Pokemon series is in development that will feature new monsters, new game play functions and other new features.

yay...innovation. I have been waiting for this since.....Pokemon Blue (which I enjoyed very much).

My guess is it means new Pokemon, but primarily it means that there will be no continuity with the existing world, such that if there are 150 in the new game, that will be the end of it, no 340 other critters to catch aside from the basic 150, just that.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

They should stick to the formula.
Just make all creatures 3d, so you can choose whatever one to follow you around.
(heh, imagine a Gyarados followin you around town, cool!)

It was stated that these games would 'reinvent' Pokemon, not reboot. The author of that article is misinformed.

Good, I don't need more than the 486 or something pokemon being increased. Having 244 out of my 250 being usless to me was bad enough, now I don't want 500 uesless pokemon to find.

I would be happy if they stay below the 250 pokemon range. I loved when it was just 150.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Pixel Art can be fun.
