Going to the source and trying to have google translate, it says the main reason is "struggling Onraigemu" with poor sales of Samurai Warriors 3 as a secondary reason.  Anyways, based on the translation (not that computers can be trusted for such things), no where did I see the Wii being blamed by the publisher, only by the article putting words in the publisher's mouth...

Whis is Onraigemu?

On Rail game? I have no clue....

OT:

I wonder what else they lost money on. They post a $20m loss so there must be some other failures beside SW3, unless SW3 was super duper expensive. Which I doubt.

Anyway, looking forward to their excuse for the next Musou game not hitting their 1m expectations. This time it'll be harder to blame the Wii. Well, Wii might have some big release the same week, overshadowing the Musou game and thus Tecmo Koei can blame the Wii again

They could do that, as long as they don't remind anyone that SW3 was released 2 weeks before FFXIII .

2 weeks, huh? That means 1 week before Tales of Graces, which they can blame for killing it's legs, and Bandai Namco can blame SW3. Both of them can blame FFXIII, and SE can blame ToG and SW3 for stealing the extra customers needed for FFXIII to reach 2 million. It's a win-win-win situation.

Posted this in the sales thread, but might as well repost...

So in the latest Famitsu, it seems there's an interview with the head of Omega Force and he says (roughly translated) "Sengoku 3 managed to broaden the users (more players than the previous series)".

Maybe Koei's IR people should talk to the rest of the company...
