Honestly that's how game consoles have always been, especially the group experiences Nintendo created with Smash Bros and Mario Kart ever since N64, but people still break out the PS1/2 fighting games, GH, DDR, etc. *shrug* doesn't seem special to me :P

Atleast with Nintendo, as you said. But i've never had that feeling with any other console. Might be that im getting older and the internet is so much more evolved and integrated.

It isn't as much what the consoles can and will do as it is about the image it has, or at least that's what I think. PS2 did manage to get a fun and accessible image after a couple of years, but it's not quite what all people associate with that console. The Wii has been the 'fun together' machine all its life. The Wii IS special in this regard, and it makes a huge difference in the approach people take to it.

ahhh, ok. I still am not too worried since Iam not from the ps department. I just found it interesting and wanted to share here but I was actually doubtful. :p
