I would not hold your breath (possibly because you may pass out). But wait for something official; I do know that PC will be getting it so if you do not have a PS3 you can still get your game on.

Well, Square Enix has stated that they are working on getting this game on the Xbox 360 at a later date. So, this wouldn't be too surprising.

Well, if they can work out the royalty structure with MS, I don't see why they'd delay? Why miss out on a 40m+ base day one?

I'm not too interested in FFXIV myself though, despite the obvious shift towards MH.

Wasn't this expected, given the way the announcement was worded and Square's comments that they wanted to work to get it on the 360? Maybe I made that last part up?
