Forums - Sony Discussion - Rumor: Sony plans a relaunch of PSP GO

It just goes to show. With enough money and hype, you can beat a dead horse. PSPGo is a massive dud, they better do more than "relaunch". It needs a redesign.

If you want a great portable gaming console and a MP3 player or video player at the same time PSPgo is awesome. My old PSP was too big to use as a MP3 player but I have no problem with my PSPgo. It fit in pockets and is not too big either. Its also possible to run with it since it is a lot lighter. Its by far the best portable gaming platform considering the games and controls on a Ipod touch are not as good. Someone that use it at home sure would be as satisfied with the regular PSP at a lower price. I guess as soon as the price drop below 200$ all the badmouthing will stop and the PSPgo will be a great device like what happen to the PS3.

This topic is about the PSP Go, not the PSP as a whole. In Japan, the Go dropped below the 360 in weekly sales just a few weeks after it launched. The Go is doing bad everywhere else too, selling much less than the PSP 3000.

Do you have the sales of Go only?

Edit: and between, I know what the topic is about. So I cant wait that you post the numbers of the Go VS normal. Too bad that ill have to wait a long time heh!

Price it equal to the 3000 and price the games better too.....a knucklehead could have figured that out...

Doubt is not a pleasant condition, but certainty is absurd.

5 THINGS I'd like to see before i knock out:

a. a AAA 3D sonic title

b. a nintendo developed game that has a "M rating"

c. redesgined PS controller

d. SEGA back in the console business

e. M$ out of the OS business

I am using the Wii browser, so I can't copypaste a link. Type "The PSP Go was a major flop" into the forum search engine. That thread includes a link in the OP which will lead you to sales that were reported by MediaCreate.

You cannot base a flop on the first week release can you? As far as I know nobody have a breakdown or even the whole figures of Go VS normal since the release of the Go.

Some would argue it's the DS/DSi. Funny you mentioned iPod touch as a gaming platform but not DS/DSi.

The price point is certinaly one mjor disadvantage of PSP GO. People don't see enough value in the device when it's $80 more than the old one.

MikeB predicts that the PS3 will sell about 140 million units by the end of 2016 and triple the amount of 360s in the long run.

I didnt mention DS because of the size, its why I used the word portable instead of handheld.

I'm not sure how ignorant you are but there is a break down of PSP GO sales in Japan each week from Media Create or Famitsu.

lol, is knowing media create or famitsu sales breakdown part of a test to determine is someone is ignorant or not? Should I say you are ignorant because you would not be able to do my job? Anyway im going to take a look on those site because ive never saw this breakdown anywhere. Thx for the link but you should get ban.

I am not talking about first week sales. Look at the numbers, they should show 3k in weekly sales for a LTD total of 64k as of the time that thread was made. The Go was as good as dead within a few weeks. I doubt that the situation was much different outside of Japan.

Ok thx man, my bad!

If you actually tried to look for it as Rol suggested, you would find the numbers instead of making that post.
