Huge lol at the Home producer talking about bad performance to someone, but then again, I guess she would be the one to know. heyooooooo, I'll he here all week!

Anyways, this comic couldn't sum it up any better.

Oh the surprise they get when they realize they'll be playing broken games and walking into a corner for eight hours or a bitchy person like me asking them to reproduce a 1/100 bug and then document the repro steps.

-edit-

And no disrespect against testers, it's a grueling job that I could never do and I couldn't have more respect for them, just this show is silly because...it just is.  That comic highlights it perfectly.

People seem to have this crazy fantasy of testers being these crazy awesome people that play games all day and do crazy things like in Grandma's Boy, when it's not really that.  It's low pay, crap hours, and playing broken games which is pretty difficult.  Don't get me wrong, the testers I know love their job, it's just it's not what you see in things like the trailer above, it's more like what's in that comic.

i don't think any of them are doing the show for the job anyway. Its the "being on TV"(sort of) part that made them apply.

I'm actually sure all those people are people that actually applied to Sony for a QA position.  They're all probably people that they wouldn't mind hiring and fit one or more of the following: 1) gamer stereotype, 2) female, or 3) charismatic.

They may not be the best, but meh.

And i am actually sure there was a open casting call for the Show.

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

- George Orwell, ‘1984’

Why the hate? Do not watch if you don't want to, no one is forcing you

the girls in the show are hot but other than that, meh
one thing is being able to beat a game in a short amount of time doesn't make you a good tester...
oh well ill watch a few episodes and see if the hotties do anything cool

oh, come on everyone, this show is as much about finding a good tester, as all these talent shows are about finding talent!

It is about making people do hillaroius stuff to entertain us. ...and show off some sony games

Ah just like home;...Loved it...

Having to write 5pgs report on a simple issue really says something on quality of processes inside game development companies nowadays

So you basing your criticism of the industry on a satirical comic? That says something too!

LOL, I wasn't aiming at the industry at all, though I agree that my wording may sound so.  Anyways, don't bitch about a profession just because there are bunch of employers who suck big time. What I mean, again, is that your organization context is more important than your occupation. QC is decent job, not "teh great" but on par with others.
