The Church, according to their own logic and that of their beliefs, have been perfectly logical about a lot of things throughout history that has killed, tortured and subjugated innocent people, that has stained the credibility and morality of the institution, and has later been reversed, dropped and possibly apologized for but more likely swept under the rug.

I'm just saying that since this current stance is one of those abominable things resulting in suffering, poverty and death, why don't they just jump ahead 50 years and get to the stage where they tweak their beliefs enough to admit that it was another one of those great moments of shame?

They would be killing people if they said "If you have sex, DON'T use a condom it's double bad."

When what they say is "Having sex while using a condom is still a sin and more dangerous then not having sex."

 

The church is not killing, torturing or subjugating people when doing this.

He is a free man and as long as he does not offend the gay community he has a right to say what he thinks. If he thinks that CoE shouldnt allow it , then i dont see what the big issue is.

Yes, I do think it is less offensive. Tombi is a respected poster and merely responded to Tyrannicals asshat phrase, by making him see how retarded his answer was. Even though Tombi is known to be a pretty die-hard atheïst he still knows better then to deliver such a phrase right out of the blue. His "Catholism is a disease" response was merely that - a response to one person and not an attack on catholics.

Obviously two people found it necessary enough to comment on it. I'm not sure if the Manwithnoname is Catholic, but I am pretty sure that Outlawauron is a Catholic. They may not have taken it as joke

It wasn't about bashing religious people or saying they were dumb, retarded idiots like he claims it was. It was and still actually is almost entirely about the Catholic churches (specifically the Popes) stance on gays and gay rights.

From what I understood about the OP is that the Pope is against the government saying that they have to hire gay people.(Correct me if I am wrong). Then this thread turned basically into Catholic bashing.  I have seen maybe 5 posts that were actually on topic
