Forums - Sales Discussion - wii in others week ending 23rd jan

only 10 wii games made the top 50 this week and of them only 2 can be called gamers games.

theres some great games on the wii such as madworld, muramusa and little kings story that really deserved better sales. does this weeks chart take us one step closer to gamers really giving up on the wii?

is this a sign of bad things to come for no more heroes 2, metroid other m etc?

I don't think gamers will ever give up on the Wii, it has too many good games to even consider doing that.

Odd. Future. Wolf. Gang. Kill. Em. All. OFWGKTA Don't give a fuck!

Fuck Steve Harvey. FREE EARL!

Final Fantasy Versus XIII will be the GREATEST game EVER made!!!

I'd take a bullet for Square-Enix!

I dont think gamers will abandon Wii, but developers have already started to...

Wii 2010 is looking to be Wii's best year yet though :P

~~~~ Mario Kart 8 drove far past my expectations! Never again will I doubt the wheels of a Monster Franchise! :0 ~~~~
lol, brining up Muramasa, MadWorld and Little King's Story again. can't we leave them to rest when it comes to proving sales. Try naming a game that is the equivalent to what sells on the other systems, like Assassin's Creed type of game. Monster Hunter 3 is the only one I can think of off the top of my head.
Maybe someone should go create a HD hardcore gaming is dead because Bionic Commando deserved to sell more.
If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy
In the past we played games. In the future we watch games. - Forest-Spirit
There are more "gamer's games" (ugh) that sold fantastically if you're allowed to include Nintendo made ones. But we're not for some reason...
It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.
Also, Monster Hunter 3 failed because the fanboys said so, despite Capcom being happy and on target along with it being the best home console version to date.
Madworld sold what it deserved to sell.
I am happy I bought it, don't get me wrong.... but that is mainly because I bought it for £3.87
I haven't played Muramasa nor Little Kings Story, but neither had a chance at selling well on any system at any time in any place.
you both make good points and I agree with you both. looking back I didn't word my point very well.
im not so much concerned with the sales of these games but the knock on effect they might have. if they selll poor then less will come out. I'm just pointing out that it does seem to be a trend and asked if its a sign of bad things for upcoming games like NMH2 and Metroid Other M, I  hope not and that people who like these types of games play them instead of not knowing of their existence until they're ported to 360/PS3 which seems to have happened with the original NMH.
sorry for the gamers games phrase demotruk I hate it to but felt I needed to use it for the point I was making, wii music is a game and if someone plays that for 10 hours a week who's to say they aren't as hardcore as Call of Duty gamers
I don't like the phrase because it supports an arbitrary divide, an "us and them" of gamers and non-gamers. I wouldn't have such a problem with it if it was just literal, like viewers and non-viewers being literally what it sounds like, but in order to be a 'gamer', you don't just have to play games, you don't just have to play games alot, you have to play specific kinds of games alot. Another poster yesterday said that people who play GTA, Halo and Mario aren't necessarily gamers.
The sooner we get beyond the notion of 'gamer' as an exclusive club, the sooner gaming will cease to be marginalised by the general public. I don't want to see gaming go the way of the comic book industry.
