Would be great to see Monster Hunter to do better in the West. I need more people to play with -_-

Odd. Future. Wolf. Gang. Kill. Em. All. OFWGKTA Don't give a fuck!

Fuck Steve Harvey. FREE EARL!

Final Fantasy Versus XIII will be the GREATEST game EVER made!!!

I'd take a bullet for Square-Enix!

So they shipped 800k Bionic Commando, eh? Guess maybe it broke even for them.

Nice to see that they've shipped 50 more k of Monster Hunter 3 ^^

Oh, Lost Planet 2 is 18th of May, nice. Dead Rising 2010 also.

Do I get this right? These are all the shipments from march 2009 to december 2009? Wasn't RE5 released then? And they shipped only 850k?

No, it's from April 1st 2009 to December 31st 2009.  RE5 came out in March (and shipped a TON!).

700k.  And considering how badly it was overshipped in the west (where retailers actually have price protection agreements) I wouldn't be too sure.

Reading through the IR report now... other choice comments...

  • Monster Hunter credited with better than expected results, MH3 = "healthy growth", 2G Best = "grew favorably"
  • Okami Wii (JP) and RE DarkSide Chronicles (NA/EU) saw "sluggish sales"
  • Basara PSP (JP), and RE5 (WW) saw "steady growth"
  • Miles Adgeworth (JP) and MMBN DS (JP) had "satisfactory sales"
  • NO mention of Bionic Commando (lol)
  • Basara series success/growth credited to Female Otaku!
  • Big Q4 games (SSF4, MH3, LP2) delayed for strategic reasons
  • fewer titles planned for release in 2010, but more "big" titles planned
  • iPhone games (inc. Phoenix Wright & GnG Gold Knights) met expectations
  • Combined arcade & medal sectors, Mario Party Fushigino Korokoro Catcher doing well
  • Arcade partnership with Namco Bandai "struggled"
  • BIG Pachinko/Pachislot losses, new Viewtiful Joe and Onimshua models planned for 2010

I wonder how they're gonna sell those MH3 copies without a budget release.

At this point, I don;t think MH3 will get a budget rerelease.  I think we'll just see MH3G this summer with the added western content instead, and then that will get a BEST version in 2011 (probably alongside the PSP port).

I hope people who say MH3 underperformed can shut up now. It was their biggest game in these results, and what do you know...they profited.

Yeah, I also didn't word that too well... not only did MH do better than expected, Capcom's crediting MH3/2G with why the company overall is doing better than expected!  And this despite losses in the arcade & pachinko/slot businesses.
