day one game but I just can't stand official websites, they are always so slow !

Yeah, that's what I was going to say.

This is 1st day for me too. It must sell at least 2.5 million.

WTF... considering that Team ICO games are cults hits...why are you Xxpecting so much?

It probably won't sell over 2 million, but be a cult hit. What's interesting to me though is his confirmation of a future PS3 purchase.

Xxactly my point...BUUUUT SONY has shown a commitment to pushing TLG.. like making sure there past mistakes with Team ICO localizations wouldn't happen this time so it could still sell at least a mill( my estimates are 800k - 1mill) but definitely nowhere 2mill.

Your kidding right? U predict The Last frigging Guardian to sell only 800K-1 mill?

Dude...as much as we love Team ICO.... there games arnt nearly mainstream enough...BELIEVE me.. I want your predictions to happen, and your right SOTC did sell somewhere between 1.5 - 2mill, so maybe you are right.

2 million is set in stone. 2.5 mill is easily within grasp.

Remember that many franchises' sales can all of a sudden just explode once they pass a threshold of marketing+hype and quality+reviews. We've seen it many times.

ICO games are not destined to remain just niche & cult.

Mark my words.

who cares when it's coming out, there is no release date, let's not make any speculation/s, you don't want this beautiful game rushed.

Chances are it's been in development since 2006/2007ish. I agree though, if it's not ready for release in 2010, they shouldn't rush it. Fortunatley, Sony isn't known to rush their titles, so it'll release when it's done.

Team ICO only makes Ico games, so they've been working on Trico since shortly after Shadow of the Colossus released (October 2005).

The only issue is how much extra time they need now that they're working on ps3.  Ico and Shadow both took roughly four years to develop.  Trico is into its fifth now.

Also, the trailers released so far show the game is very far along in development, so I get the feeling they were aiming for the end of 2009 initially (hence Yoshida's "Olympic Team" comments in September of 2008), and pushed it back to 2010 sometime early last year.

A Holiday 2010 release date is very possible, and I'd be less surprised to see it release this year than next.

These games deserve the highest possible sales. They are absolutely stunning pieces of work.

Even though they know it probably won't sell bucket loads Sony still lets these guys take their time and make a masterpiece that will probably never recoup the costs needed to develop it. This is why I support Sony so much.

Also every time I watch these Last Guardian trailers it somehow toys with my emotions. I can't help but feel happy while at the same time so upset because I feel so bad for that creature. I don't like seeing those arrows in it's body.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

You know I won't argue. Trying to argue with you on Ico games is like trying argue with me about HEAVY RAIN.

What's to argue?  :P
