Why will Sony "probably" do a $50? They need to make a profit on the PS3 and further cutting the price isn't going to help. They stood back and did nothing in late 08, they'll do the same this christmas.

well if that was the case they would not have droped the Price Last year ..im betting on a maybe anyways , i never claimed it was a sure thing, Sony has already proved they are willing to take a loss time and time again. So ONLY time will tell

So you mention system sellers...

First off Gears of War 3 hasn't been announced or even hinted for a 2010 release as of yet so you can't count that.

We'll see how much of a System Seller ME2 is when we get next week's chart.

I don't know much about Fable but isn't it like Mass Effect 2 where you can import stuff from Fable I over to Fable II and Fable II over to Fable III? So if you consider that, Fable III isn't a big System seller at all.

Alan Wake and Splinter Cell as System Sellers??? Serious?! Nah.

Halo: Reach by far will be the biggest X360 System Seller amongst all exclusives for X360 this year. And it probably won't be huge either since Halo fans would alreadly own a 360 by now.

Natal I'm really not too sure about. But currently I'm leaning more towards the system seller side for now.

Halo and Price Cut would help but in the end, 50 mil might just be out of reach.

They needed to last year, if they did nothing it would have been make or break. They can't go 4 years on without a profit on the PS3, sales will be healthy enough this christmas anyway.

Last solid reliable info we have (so no, not that website that claimed it was making a profit) have it at $336 per system to produce, around that anyway.

Gears 3 wont be out until next year. Halo will sell 10 mill+, but wont attract many new customers. Natal and price cut will attract some casuals, but it will still basically remain a hardcore console.

I predict 47 million by the end of the year.

50 million 360s sold by the end of the year. IMO it will be only 47 million 360s sold by the end of the year.

The 50 millionth 360 will be sold in first half of 2011.

well i dont think there far off making profit, so after ff13s and gt5s big boom in sales i think it will tip them into profit, so maybe some sort of price cut later this year is possible

To make a $50 cut at christmas, they need to lower production costs by around $86, and that's to only break even.
