but Halo Reach will play a huge part , i just don't think its going to be as big as some many think it will . i still at the end of the year 360 will match ps3 in sales if not beat it IMO .

Why will Sony "probably" do a $50? They need to make a profit on the PS3 and further cutting the price isn't going to help. They stood back and did nothing in late 08, they'll do the same this christmas.

well if that was the case they would not have droped the Price Last year ..im betting on a maybe anyways , i never claimed it was a sure thing, Sony has already proved they are willing to take a loss time and time again. So ONLY time will tell

They needed to last year, if they did nothing it would have been make or break. They can't go 4 years on without a profit on the PS3, sales will be healthy enough this christmas anyway.

Last solid reliable info we have (so no, not that website that claimed it was making a profit) have it at $336 per system to produce, around that anyway.

well i dont think there far off making profit, so after ff13s and gt5s big boom in sales i think it will tip them into profit, so maybe some sort of price cut later this year is possible

To make a $50 cut at christmas, they need to lower production costs by around $86, and that's to only break even.
