Pachter believes Nintendo will win the console war this time around

Analyst Michael Pachter believes the console war is far from over, but thinks that Nintendo will still take the crown. Speaking in the latest episode of The Bonus Round, Pachter said;

"We're going to see phenomenal console sales when these guys get to $149.99. That's way in the future but we have something to look forward to. I think the console war is so far from over, except that Nintendo is going to win."

December was a record-breaking month for Nintendo, selling over 3.8million Wii's over the Christmas period. However, we're still far from the end of the current console cycle and with Sony and Microsoft coming up with ideas left, right and centre, anything can happen.

Pachter is stating the obvious is he even trying anymore?

"Hey! Look at me. I am famous and I am stating the obvious."

It sure is upping his percentage of correct predictions.

But notice that he says that the console war is far from over? What does he mean by this? Does he mean until the next set of consoles come out? Hmmm.

I think he's totally wrong. There's not going to be any phenomenal sales when they hit $149 because by then the next gen will have started and that always kills current gen sales.

I disagree. The war has been over for at least two years, when it became obvious that Nintendo was going to win and MS/Sony would lose as much money as they had to in order to assure they didn't lose too much market share to each other.
