Well apparently people played FF7 with just using magic or the first weapon they got & so on

hmmm maybe I should also just not level up light's weapon and see if that adds to the difficulty.

The hardest challenge on FF7 was No Materia, Original Weapons, No Accesories and No Items.

It wasn't that hard, per se, mainly because Limit Breaks were ridiculously overpowered. Getting through Disc 1 was a Breeze using Aeris as a front row combatant, being the Materia Keeper and the Demon Wall the only trully challenging bosses on Disc 1.

After Disc 2, people either relied on Yuffie's Cleansing Light or Cait Sith's Dice limit break for healing and survival.

No it isn't.

Not restricting levels makes it very easy.

That challenge alone implied restricted levels. I've not seen any one go over level 35 doing that challenge, mainly because normal battles would be too draining on the limit bar itself.

And any challenge that meant for you to be below level 30 would be simply impossible, mainly because you needed to have over 1.2K HP minimun to survive Ultima Weapon's Ultima attack on the story fight on Mideel.

Actually, that is impossible, the challenge you said since there would be no possible way to survive Jenova*DEATH without a Fire Ring and there is no way in hell to survive Carry Armor without Original Weapons.

The most difficult (and plausibe) is No Materia, No Items, Low Level (max 29).

Actually, this one is the hardest. http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/psx/file/197341/41824

Low leves, no Accesories, original weapons and no materia. Items are allowed, but since you're playing a low level challenge, you can't farm for items nor gil, so you'll be extremely limited to the amount and type of items you can have, especialy the Lunar and Light Curtains needed for Barrier&M-Barrier, which are already very rare and difficult to get normally.

All I know is one guy has done every FF7 challenge on GameFAQs and only he would know.

He's on Youtube, GarlandtheGreat.

Did you know that there's actually a world record for midgar completion or something like that.

Thats a record for how long it takes you to finish the midgar bit of FF7 (starting)

apparently people have manipulated the random encounter thingy.

The only one i've ever bothered to do was the No Items, No materia except Command, Original Weapons and Initial Equipment, and that was pretty easy once you've learned Big Wall + White Wind. The hard part was surviving two crucial fights before getting White Wind from Zemzelets; Aps and Motor Ball fucking back attack >_<

what would someone recommend for stats to beat the Neochu to get the Growth Egg?

End of 2014 Hardware Predictions (03/03/14)

PlayStation 4: 12-15million

Xbox One: 7-10 million

Wii U: 8-9 million (Changed 01/04/2014 from 7-9 --> 8-9 million)

There's two ways to defeat the Neochu.

Cheap way - Have a SEN (preferably Snow) with over 15K HP and a MED. Use Vanille as your party leader and continuosly cast Death on the Neochu. Use a Belladona wand (Malboro Wand if you have it) for improved Debilitation.

Hard way - Be prepared for arguably one of the hardest fights in all FFXIII. You'll need to not only deal with the 5 microchus that start the battle with the Neochu, but he will summon 8 additional ones when he goes to 50% and 25% health.  Always take care of the Microchus first, since their combined attacks can decimate your SEN in an instant if left alone. And also, be on the lookout for his Screech attack. It can easily do over 10K damage if you're caught unnaware. Your best bet is to have a SEN/SEN/SEN configuration and whenever you see him roar, switch to that paradigm as he will launch Screech next time he attacks.

Start the battle with COM/RAV/SEN and use Fortisol and Aegisol prior to the battle, also consider giving your SEN (preferably Snow once again) a big amount of Physical Reduction items (General Belt * is preferable, for 25% physical reduction) and Deprotect resistance. After dealing with the microchus, put on SAB/SAB/SEN and give Imperil to the Neochu (this is very important, or else you won't even make a dent on his chain link bar).

After giving him Imperil, switch to RAV/RAV/SEN and Wail away at him. You should aim to have 700 chain before he gets to 50% HP. After reaching that step, he will summon the 8 microchus for the first time.

Now two things can happen. Either you're very lucky and your SEN uses provoke and provokes the entire microchu party to attack him, shielding your other characters from getting instant killed by the massive onslaught of microchus, or it doesn't. Consider this second case, and immediatly switch to MED/MED/SEN. This will guarantee survival for your other party members while your SEN provokes them all. Be mindful of Neochu's chain link, and attack him whenever you see it dangerously low.

After getting them all provoked, switch back to COM/RAV/SEN and destroy the microchus. Then, it's just a matter of RAV/RAV/SEN him until you hit 888% chain. Be sure to cast Imperil on him once again. It's very important that you stagger him before he gets to 25% HP. Another onslaught of microchus is pretty much fatal at that point. Once he's staggered, switch to COM/COM/RAV and smash him to pieces XD.

Your best bet for stats are 15K for Snow, 12K for everyone else. I had 2200 magic on Vanille when I fought him and 2600 Strength on Fang. Snow stats doesn't matter, but 1.8K strength is enough I guess.

Try the Death trick first, most of the people in here who did the Neochu fights used that. I got bored with it, because in 30 minutes I couldn't Death him once >_<

Eventually I formed that strategy for myself and it worked, albeit with a pretty hectic battle.
