You know what I find funny? People complaining that in FFXIII you can't go back to previous areas. Well a WRPG that is getting universally praised by everyone is doing the SAME thing. After most side-quests and main story mission you can't go back. But yet they aren't bitching. What is the difference? I don't get it.

The difference is that FF is a series that's easy to hate on, since it's own fans are sometimes it's worst enemies. Plus, coupled with the fact that WRPG's are more in vogue this generation, JRPG's get the heat whenever they don't match up to perfection.

FFXIII is largely missunderstood, but what pains me the most, is seeing FFX fans complaining about FFXIII. That's the biggest irony i've ever seen towards a FF game.

Final Fantasy X was sheer amazing. XIII will be a great addition to the series.

The problem with peoplec omplaining with FFXIII is that FF is way too popular

this means RPG fans of all types love it

the "old school" FF1 - 6 & 9 fans, the "middle school" FF7,8,10 fans & the FF12 fans......ofcourse apart from this many WRPG fans also buy & play FF's.

Making a game to satisfy the WANTS & NEEDS of all these different types of gamers in IMPOSSIBLE

In a funny way of speaking we can say FF is too popular for its own good!! lol

People need to get off the hype train this generation. No game can live up the expectations that people are setting.

You're completely right.

But if you see the patterns, most of the time, the hate for FF comes from the pre-3D FF fans. Heck, there are people in here that go around saying that FF ended with FF6.

Those kind of people won't ever be satysfied, even if S-E did a FF exactly like FF6, because they nothing will ever match up to their ideals.

As for FF popularity, that wouldn't be an issue, if it's own fans were as close together as almost all popular franchises fans are. You don't see Halo, Mario, Zelda, Dragon Quest, Gran Turismo getting so much flak from it's own fans as FF does. Because they can accept and enjoy whatever comes next in their beloved franchises.

In FF case, the contrary happens, each new FF gets hated because it didn't do all the things fans wanted, so it is worthless.

I was going CRAZY back then with MGS4 hype & with a Signature with flashing MGS4 hype words

Thankfully that lived upto & surpassed the hype
