The difference is that FF is a series that's easy to hate on, since it's own fans are sometimes it's worst enemies. Plus, coupled with the fact that WRPG's are more in vogue this generation, JRPG's get the heat whenever they don't match up to perfection.

FFXIII is largely missunderstood, but what pains me the most, is seeing FFX fans complaining about FFXIII. That's the biggest irony i've ever seen towards a FF game.
