this is the silliest excuse i have ever heard, SE I am not amused. I can't imagine why they would not know, and really SE should be grateful that Sony saved them after their fail with spirits within (i loved that movie).
Apart from that FF XIII will be good depsite what the haters say.

And if they did spend 1.5 years developing FFXII on PS2, they could have still easily released it in 2007 on the PS2 and it would have still sold a whole lot, possibly over 6 million.

LOL... no, the ps3 didnt cause them to waste 1year plus another half year (remember 1.5 isnt multiple years so I cant use year plurally) on FF13. You deciding to scrap the work and put it on the ps3 caused you 1.5 years.
