I wish fat princess had it, can't say I use it to much on the X360, but on some games it adds a nice touch.
I can understand games wanting players to use their music that they paids for and selected to best fit the game however.
So I think the PixelJunk method of giving custom soundtracks after the games has been completed would be a good item

It's nice in some games, but in most games I'd rather listen to the game's own soundtrack anyway, as it usually fits better. And in multiplayer, I have much better use for my ears than listening to music, such as listening for my opponents

In the end, I think it's fine the way it is. It's an artistic choice for some and a ressource choice for others, if you want it in a game, tell the developers and maybe you will get it.

I want to have custom soundtrack in Sport and Racing games... in other genres it does not matter to me...

wait is this even english???

I have had the complete opposite experience with custom soundtrack. The last 7 games I bought have had custom soundtrack:
1)Killzone 2

2) Flock

3) Burn Zombie Burn

4) Pixel Junk Shooter

5) Zombie Apocalypse

6) Final Fantasy Crystal Defenders

7) Astro Tripper

Though I have a ton more that support the feature, I do have some games that I wish did support it as well (condemn 2, Chronicles of Riddick, Mercenaries 2, & Mirrors Edge).

Zombie Apocalypse does not have custom soundtracks as far as I know.

It would be awesome especially for sports and racing games coz in IMO i think their original soundtracks SUCK

no idea how to make this properly work

KILLZONE has custom soundtrack? Holy fuck I'm so playing that game tonigh!!!!!

ROADHOUSE!!!

Oh and on topic: yes Sony absolutley needs to make it mandatory. I don't even bother checking if games have the custom soundtrack option on PS3 anymore. You know why? Cause 90% of my games don't...

On the ther hand, if I know the option is available in all games, I'd be using it all the time.

Certain games but not all.

I think all racers and fighters should have the feature.

4 ≈ One

I think it makes sense. You're the consumer in the end so even if it is horrible for the game you should have the option.

I think they should make custom soundtracks mandatory but allow developers to stipulate a first playthough without it.

For example, I can understand if ND with Uncharted 2 or QD with Heavy Rain figured that playing for the first time with the Alvin and the Chipmunks soundtrack blaring over everything would ruin the experience. But once you've played through once on the SP (MP being a different kettle of fish) if you want to listen to Gregorian Monks chanting while playing the game then that's your choice.

I think Sony, Trophy's aside, are going for the option right now of giving developers more freedom. While laudable, in truth the results seem to be that few really exploit that freedom while most simply take is as a chance to skip spending a bit of money to support something.

I also want the ability to supress all in-game Trophy announcements as well - something I believe you can do as a custom capability in Heavy Rain.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

Burnout Paradise and Zen Pinball have custom soundtracks.

As much as I want custom soundtracks on all PS3 games, I'm not gonna run out and buy an XBOX 360 because of that.
I didnt know KZ2 had CS
