Grinding wasn't needed! The game was excellently balanced hwere, if you didn't run from battles, you did not need to grind!

And most of your problems with bosses? They're solved just by casting Slow.

Khuutra....grinding felt like it was needed..very much so

and I think I see where the problem lies

I'm someone who thinks things over and over and over

and I kinda forgot that FFIV was real-time instead of turn based...

yeah...my bad there

so I guess it was my inability to simply scroll through menus fast that probably led me to ignore strategies, whereas in the older games I had all the time, to pick my enemies, press B to go back a menu in case I made a mistake
all without worrying about getting raped by the enemies before I can do anything

hmmm...I guess because it wasn't turn-based, but rather real-time with effing MENUS
is why it probably ended up being a grindfest for me, since I tend to forget where on the menu slow is..wich means, searching for it may cause enemies to rape me before I cast it..

ah I already see my problem

hmmmm...

yeah...my usual gripe with real-time menu based games..
bad combo

....you can set the game to freeze the ATB bar while you scroll through magic and item menus

wich is sadly not the same as the game being turn based, since I already played the game both ways
and it's best if the battle keeps flowing since the battle flows in the regular menu anyway and whatnot

not turn based

adding some time stops won't make it turn-based

I used to be able to plan ahead with my whole team

now I'm left with a person by person thing going on

give me tale's games' systems over this

or KH

or simply make it turn based

The Last Story > FFXIII (story, action, and fun wise)

So I guess you've played both, have you? If not, quit trolling.

Stop being a downer Montana, he only displayed his personal wishes. Someone would've thought he dissed the bible with your reaction

No, he made a statement. One without any basis.

And I honestly wouldn't care if someone dissed the Bible.

No, you're wrong. He made an opinion. Which one is better in any asspect is an opinion and is not quantitative. You can not have a claim (as a statement is just a type of sentence) for something that is "better," as it is subjective. So your post is more trolling then his as that is his opinion and your post is trying to shot down an opinion.

Yes, an opinion is a statement. And I'm calling him out on it because I doubt he's played either game (especially since one hasn't come out yet).

So why don't you shut your mouth and walk away?

But how the hell are you going to call out an opinion? He's allowed to have his views on the game whether you like it or not. The fact that you are trying to call an opinion is retarded and boneheaded in of itself and it just makes you look like a foolish bully.

he is allowed to have an opinion, but it is meaningless to anyone else but him if he cannot back it up with any arguments based in facts.

the game is not out yet
there for FF > TLS by default

we don't know ANYTHING about this game

he cannot possibly state TLS > FF

simply because it has no arguments , and is therefore not based on facts

wich means he may keep his opinion, but should refrain from stating such baseless strings of words

Doesn't matter. An opinion does not have to be based on fact or reason.

a belief or judgment that rests on grounds insufficient to produce complete certainty.

The definition implies that there doesn't have to be a basis for the opinion. I like chocolate icecream. Do I need a reason for that? No, I just like chocolate icecream. Can I say chocolate>strawberry. Yes. Can I say chocolate>all other icecream. YES. I haven't eaten every other icecream, but I can still say it because I like chocolate icecream better then all others. I don't need to give statistical evidence to say that I like chocolate icecream better then other icecream flavors. My opinion is alkso allowed to change if I eat a new icecream flavor and like it better. The original poster can also say FF>TLS when he plays it. Either way, he is allowed to beleive it. The problem is Montana is saying he can't.

Here is the problem with your post. You don't understand the difference between an opinion and a fact. You can not say that FF must be better then TLS because you can not make sufficient evidence for an opinion. An opinion is a belief or judgment that rests on grounds insufficient to produce complete certainty or a personal view, attitude, or appraisal. Thus, regardless of what you think, he can say TLS is better because it is his view on the games. You can say we know nothing about it, but it is still his view on it. I find it rediculous that you were trying to make theories and proofs on opinions. You can NEVER state that "cannot possibly state TLS > FF" because neither alternative have sufficient evidence to disprove the other (and accept the alternative).

Fact of that matter is thisL: he is allowed to think that way whether any of you like it or not. You may disagree with it, but you must also accept that he can think that way.

I said he was allowed his opinion
only it's useless of him to make statements like those

that's all I said

You know, the ironic thing is, I think that Death Cape only has to grind so much because he LACKS the more-nuanced strategies often called for in later FF's.

Crusty VGchartz old timer who sporadically returns & posts. Let's debate nebulous shit and expand our perpectives. Or whatever.

yeah...very complext strtegy: always casting slow

-__-

that's not interesting, that's not what you call a game

if you are forced to use one and only one strategy then it's not what I meant

it's what i was complaining about in the first place

but nvm

I guess you're missing the point I'm trying to get across

let me put it this way

in FFI you could make a team full of white mages

wich means you are forced to come up with a strategy to beat the boss without using "slow" for example

get it? got it? good
