I agree that just making a twisted metal won't ensure the success of the title. Times have changed and the standards are higher, so I wouldn't be surprised if they created something new more according to todays demands.

one will be Twisted Metal, and at least one is a new ip

I hope it's a new IP. Twisted metal doesn't interest me.

That image could just mean that Sweet Tooth will be in a cameo role in the new ip.

I agree. There are still some very important exclusives in this gen and I don't want to miss them.
