When MySpace users made custom skin profiles that took 10 mins to load, looked god awful hideous and chewed up your processor.

Not to mention the godawful music that preloads no matter what you do.

I still have a Myspace, but I barely log in anymore. Since getting a Facebook three months ago, I spend most of my social networking time on Facebook.

MySpace jumped the shark about this time last year. If you look at Quantcast, the # of users crossed streams in March of 09 or so.

Since then, Myspace has been facing dwindling numbers while Facebook has been breaking virtually any number ever made.

All of those sites are over-rated. I'm only on there sometimes,to keep in touch with family.

Basically, Myspace's big appeal is mainly in the U.S. and I believe parts of Asia. Facebook has worldwide appeal. I know that Facebook is absurdly popular in Europe, especially in the U.K. It's also grown from just being open to college students to reaching people of all ages.

When people stopped caring about music.

I'd say, when people stopped caring about having music on there page to look cool and pretty much when Facebook became available to everyone. Its a way better social tool than MySpace and has a wider appeal. Its more professional.
