YES this is official, I don't know any non-portuguese site that has this news!

Rumours were pointing at a new generation because of the new creatures in the new movie!

This Year? Japan? It does seem too close with HG/SS...........but to be honest, I have been waiting for the 5th generation in Pokemon long enough! So if this is really true it won't bother me much. Besides, we usually get the new generation Pokemon game a year after Japan's release.

If this changes up the basic Pokemon formula (getting very, very, very stale; I bought Blue the day it came out and have a long and tempestuous relationship with the series) and is made by Game Freak, I'm beyond pumped.

The pokemons lost all kind of charm after the first generation imo.

Now just a Sumer Smash Brothers Pocket for christmas 2011 and you got a platform to hold good enough till the next portable.
