Needler wasn't in Halo Wars

Wrong, there are needler in Halo Wars -> Grunts using it after the second upgrade.

You can find nearly all of the Halo FPS weapons in Halo Wars.

outrageous.... then again i suppose a long distance homing rifle would make things a little easy

The thing only takes 1 shot to the head with no shields and 3 otherwise to kill a target.  Homing would make it uber powerful.  They also say it is powerful against shields as well.

haha, yeah it is, and yes I conceed, it was in HW.

I wonder if with the new rifle, they're going to drop the normal needler for Reach ...

Beat me to it. Anyway the guns look sweet so far. I'm starting to feel a little excitement for this game now.

There might not be any Brute stuff in Reach.  It is confirmed that there are no spike or flame grenades.  There might not be a Chopper, hammer, spikers, and that other Brute sled vehicle.
