I think Japanese gamers would prefer MGS 1,2 or 3 over 4
MGS4's gameplay was westernized too much
Im also shocked theres no Resident Evil 1 or 2

Yep, just ask Perpride, Jin-Shouden, Jaylam or Dgc1808 how much they hated it :) Thankfully all the hate has subsided to a minimum now, and will continue to do so when actual western reviews come out. But it will peak again, after the people who supposedly hate the game buy it, play it, and come back with the same thing over and over again. Thus, perpetuates the cycle of the hate of each new FF game xD

Yep, games will be so bad because of what they have seen on the internet or read from. It's a wonderful age when you can play games just by seeing youtube videos or random internet reviews/previews xD

There were two kinds of people who did that:

1 - To watch the story, looking for spoilers.
2 - To justify their hate for the game.

We had a bit of both in this forum in December/Early January

I know one member here who dislikes JRPG's just because he sees them on a videogame streaming site, but he has never properly played one. It's a sad state of affair when games are reduced to that.

So FFXIII have no inns, pretty much no towns, linear as hell, full HP after each battle, no classic victory theme, no random battles, no overworld....wow FF sure have gone casual



If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

Hogwash. There are people who have played Mario games without nostalgiac connections to the game mechanics or the level design and found them to still play fantastically. I am one of them.

But I'll invite you to a little exercise, if you care to?

Name some flaws in Super Mario Bros. Go ahead.

How has it gone casual? This is the HARDEST Final Fantasy out there so far.
