aragod said: I agree with what they said, Uncharted 2 sales are disappointing, there is so many cheap bastards in my country, that buy only used games, or lend one game to all of their friends, just so they can save some money. One dude bought UC2 and borrowed it to 5-6 people. No wonder games doen't sell. I should clarify, those guys are interested in singleplayer only. |
I don't see anything wrong with that. I lent UC2 to two people, myself. I often lend games out to friends when I feel I have little use for it after either fully completing the game, or getting bored of it. If one copy or a single rental is enough to satisfy multiple people, then they don't deserve extra sales. Still, on some occasions, this does lead to extra purchases...
Anyway, what's the use in keeping a game that will only lose value over time as it collects dust on my shelf? If it comes to a point where I don't see myself playing a game any time soon, there's no reason not to either sell it or lend it out to someone that would have use for it. Games are expensive, after all.
Perhaps these single player cinematic games could use a different business model, I don't know. Most other games don't share this problem, because their focus is not in story but replayability, which make them harder to give up, as they retain their value much better.
