"successful representation of everyday situations"

Like having to strip at gunpoint? Interesting.

No he didn't. He responded to people wondering why the review would give a high score to a game which, as he says "has no game".

My question is why would he say it "has no game" if one of his positives on the game is "spiffy gameplay" Gameplay makes a game. If one of the attractions to the game for him was that it has good gameplay, why on earth would he say it barely has a game?

Number one, your misquoting.

Number two, I explained it perfectly and in detail, you are only choosing to not listen.

And they say I'm the one defensive over HEAVY RAIN all the time! Seems my minions have it all worked out!

It's not really just being defensive, it is that some people here actually take the time to read and understand what that quote means.

I know, I know.....just wanted to bust in with some comic relief. On a serious note, this game will continue to be misunderstood and many reviews for it will continue to be misunderstood. I'm just goin to sit back and watch the fireworks, all else is irrelevant now, my 'baby' is on it's way in 27 days....

I'm sorry to tell you this, but I think your "baby" might be a hermaphrodite.

...............wait........... I don't get it?

You get to play as both male and female characters... And I think they said they won't do a direct sequel, pretty much ruling out grandchildren.

Ok... it was pretty obscure, lol.

Wait, someone answer my question. They say there's "no game" in the cons but list "spiffy gameplay" in the positives. isn't a game anything that consists of gameplay?

I mean, if it's just QTE's as he says, why would he also list spiffy gameplay? sounds like there's more to it than he's letting on.

He didn't say "No Game", he said: No "Game", implying that it isn't a game in the traditional sense and understanbdably so it will be a deterent for many gamers, this is why it is listed as a con. He isn't saying it has no gameplay and it isn't only QTE's. Yes it ihas many, but that still doesn't invalidate it as a game.

Zack and Wiki is just point and click, but it is a game is it not? Is Dragon's Lair not a game? It is only button presses that need to be done at the right time or else you fail. Is Myst not a game? I think you get my point.

Oh jeez, I give up.

You've mistaken my meaning. I love point and click adventures and consider them to be one of the heights of games. I just didn't get his choice of review words. it is pretty contradictory to say the gameplay is great and the lack of gameplay is a problem. I'm not questioning the game; I'm questioning the review.

Oh jeez, I give up (see, that's not a very nice thing to say)

I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.

Chrizum is the best thing to happen to the internet, Period.

Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!

Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.

Oh, and on topic: Is it as much non game as Endless Ocean? Or is it even more non game?

Can we differentiate between softcore non games and hardcore non games?

I am starting to like where this is going.

I don't mind if someone says they give up.

I also explained why he wrote the in the cons area and what the meaning for it is. As I said he writes it as No "Game" because for many people they may in fact see it this way and will see it as a big time con, just like it was for Dragon's Lair.

Yes maybe he should have worded it better to avoid the confusion we have here.

I also apologize if I misunderstood what your meaning was.

When we do reviews, we sometimes put "no singleplayer?" as a downside, just to point out that this might be a problem for some people.

It's quite evident (to me) that this is something similar.

People expecting a game in the traditional sense will be put off by its weird approach to gaming (although it's merely a point&click by nature). That's why he (imho) put that as a downside.

Would it be okay for me to call it a no game as long as I rated 9+?

Both of them are games, only problem is that for some reason there are many who think they are not.

I also hate the whole "Hardcore/Softcore/Casual" thing because the term applies more to the gamers rather than the games themselves. In my opinion anyways.
