Forums - Sony Discussion - MAG beta gear missing? WTF?

ohh and for all the people talking about mags epic skill tree do me a favor, take the weapons, weapon upgrades and items out of the "skill" tree and show me what you have left, ohh thats right theres only like maybe 5 actual skills in that tree now like improved rifle stabilty, which is actuall a skill not an item or weapon upgrade...but a SKILL, then compare it to something like borderlands and then talk to me about FPS skill trees.

Just because zipper decided to stick all the weapons, upgrades and items into a tree with actual skills does mean mags skill tree is big, they are just now forcing you to use skill points on items and weapons

Seriously though, the gas mask looked awesome!

it's still there, it was just put with a certain type of armor

MAG is a deeper game than MW2, not only does MAG have a deeper tree which actually uses skill points but MAG also reaps the benefits of squad play through communication and planning, MW2 does not.

i just cant understand why some people think MW is the end all of fps, MAG not only kills it in size (in every aspect) but it ruins it in the using your brains department, it takes communication, team healing, team resurrecting, planning on attacks and defending, large scale map directives, leader orientation and squad reliance.

if anything the next modern warfare will take aspects from this game

lol if your going to use borderlands as an example or a skill tree may i direct your attention to games like world of warcraft dont even bother comparing skill trees when in the end much deeper games exist all around especially online

yup mag requires a whoooole lot of brains to play. see MW2 is just run-shoot-kill-die. but ohh boy those quantum physicists playing mag, ohh man they have to run-run-run-shoot-kill-hold O on the flashing red objective on the minimap-die,  hoooly crap kids this is a whole new ballpark here anyone with an IQ lower then 180 better just stay the hell away..for realz

wow lol that's funny seeing as I have MAG and Borderlands and love them both

I didn't know Borderlands was a competitive mmo fps, I could have swore it was along the lines of fps/rpg lol

take away the assult weapons and upgrades, take away the close quartes weapons and upgrades, take away personal defense weapons and upgrades, take away marksmen weapons and upgrades, and take away heavy weapons and upgrades, and your left with the following

Athleticism-

impact damage resistance: decrease damage taken by fall

improve shot detection: increase range of detecting enemy fire

improve sprint recovery: less time to wait between sprints

advanced paratrooper: increases the control of your parachute

improved stealth: move more silently, inefective while spriting

increased endurance: sprint for longer distances

chemical damage resistance: less damage taken by poison gas

explosive resistance: less damage taken by explosive force

improved health: overall health increase

Electronics-

acoustic locater: amplifies enemy gunfire, providing enhanced threat dectection. When used the locater highlights enemy weapon fire on the cni and minimap at far greater ranges than normal

explosives dectector: give engineer the ability to see enemy explosives at longer range, even threw terrain

sensor jammer: when activated this device clocks the player and squad mates from enemy sensors

motion sensor: when thrown this device detects enemy movemant and displays it onthe mini-map and cni, it does not detect non-moving or dead enemys

Explosives-

anti-personal mine aka claymore

advanced grenades- ulock ability to throw grenades at greater distances

Land mine: anti-vehicle

advanced evplasions: unlock ability to disarm explosives faster

poison gas grenade

Support:

medical kit (highly recomended as fisrt unlock) heals player to full health with one shot

improved repairing: fix damaged equipment faster

Resusitation: (highly recomended as second unlock) medical kit upgrade, ability to revive teammates to 50% health

improved healing: heal teammates and heal player faster than normal

improved resusitation: revive teammates to full health

now the funny thing is MAG and borderlands skilltree is almost identical, and me I choose MAG as better as it more meaningful

that's a really big like 5 things, and remember this is without weapons and upgrades, think you can do better?

thought I was the only one imo, and you abosolutly correct about that last part, just like the first 2 have just dumbed down elements of games before them.

Nice job. I had a feeling he was talking out his rear end the entire time. Glad you proved him wrong.

5 =/= 23
