Needs to go away.

Mario has been Nintendo's mascot for a LONG time now and I think that he needs to give it up already. In my opinion Mario is starting to get annoying and should just leave the position as Nintendo's mascot and give the position to another franchise. The only problem is Mario does everything such as Adventure in 3D, Adventure in 2D, Party, Racing, Sports, and even more. So who could possibly replace Mario? Well the only one I could think of is Pokemon. Pokemon can extend just as much as Mario. Pokemon can do, Battle/Fighting, RPG, Party, Adventure, and Minigames! Pokemon is more popular than Mario on the handhelds anyway and Nintendo should try to make Pokemon more popular on Home Consoles. Mario is getting old now and should just give the title to Pokemon. With this said Mario should still stay with Nintendo they just shouldn't put out as many games as they do now. Do I like Pokemon? The answer is yes. Is it my favorite? The answer is No. I like many other Nintendo franchises way more than both but Pokemon was the only other reasonable mascot for Nintendo and I like it better than Mario.

I agree with you there, but as long as the quality of Mario games don't go down, I don't mind Mario being Nintendo's mascot.

Mario games are among the best ever made, many have set the standard for future games in their genre.

i disagree, mario = quality. who wouldn't want quality representing them? all that other stuff like being in many genres and being adorable is just extra incentive for Nintendo and more of a reason to have him as a mascot.

who else can embody so many genres and still keep up the quality and sales WITH pleasing the fans?

Pikkachu mascot. No Samus will be better. Unless Pokemon start chaning its fomula or feel like your playing a ddiffrent game or start making the main line titles have 6 years in between and keep quality in your spin offs, Keep up with crossovers,be simplae easy to play and have fun local muiltplayer, That require one game. Be a huge hit on consoles.

Fact is,Pokemon will have to do alot to become mascot. Sure the sereis is branching out beyond the gaming border. But we are talking about consols.
