It's a hardware/software exploit, so it's nowhere near as easy to install as Wii Homebrew:

geohot: the way i actually glitch the memory bus is really funny
geohot: i have a button on my FPGA board
geohot: that pulses low for 40ns
geohot: i set up the htab with the tons of entries
geohot: and spam press the button
geohot: right after i send the deallocate call

Can I just ask, he says he doesn't care about the pirating side of it, he was just curious so why bother releasing it then? Surely a video showing his accomplishments would have been enough right?

He could have released it so that other people can find better exploits using this one, and to share his work. And of course so other people can do stuff like homebrew, etc.

I don't know what's in his mind, but there are plenty of reasons to release this other than piracy.

Have you never been curious about how something works?

Hackers are just curious people in general... And by the way many famous companies were started by hackers.

So the hacker's that steal games are steal people's information are just curious people. Seeing how something works is fine,but when hacker's get into stealing things,then yes they have no life.
