Pachter's post is more concise and to the point than your email, in my opinion. He's taking average price for 3rd party titles, and the split between 1st and third party into consideration directly. You don't really even imply that in your email.
The 3rd parties, and Pachter, are absolutely correct in that the Wii demographics are (a) radically different from stock game console demographics, and (b) not going to magically change their gaming preferences just because the 3rd parties change the kinds of games they make for the Wii.
The most successful 3rd party titles, and indeed the only kind of games worth making for 3rd parties, who lack the brandname recognition of Nintendo, are casual/party/fitness titles. No traditional game is going to ever smash those boundaries -- you can't change people just by making a new game for their system. The 3rd party market is there, but its limited. Most of the current 3rd party publishers are not prepared, or experienced, in making casual games -- and they should stay away from it for that reason.
Honestly the publishers who stand to make it big on the Wii are ones like BigFish, WildTangent, and the kinds of casual companies that make facebook and iPhone games (I forget the name of the FarmVille company.. Z-something). The Wii is their target audience. They should capitalize on it, because they are masters of the demographic already.
