Forums - Microsoft Discussion - MS Japan formed a team to save 360 in JPN

at least they are trying...

I think the best thing to save 360 in Japan is not selling it there at all...

The sales there are a complete shame for Microsoft, it's not their fault, but the japanese public nationalism.

Microsoft is sinking money in the wrong place, but if Capcom wins with Microsft money they don't care to put out 3 games on the console don't minding if it bombs or not.

ff13 exclusivity for the ps3 in japan already put the 360 in it's coffin

Guys the PS3 is getting Monster Hunter 4/1, the true sequel in the series. This is just a port from an old PC MMO the 360 is getting. Just felt I needed to clear that up before more misinformed comments arise, the PS3 is getting the true sequel to Monster Hunter exclusively.

Link?

I don't recall Capcom announcing a MH for PS3 after moving MH3 to Wii.

Famitsu, apparently..the scan is shown right here, it doesn't look fake.

Edit: nevermind, it's a photoshop, god dammit...either way it's not a new monster hunter coming to the 360, it's a port.

I bet you feel abit stupid after pasting this so called fact in every Microsoft labled Monster Hunter thread today. No?

I don't think they will ever be able to increase 360 sales in Japan this way, frankly. Seems they haven't learned a lesson from bribing 3rd parties. They need to build a first party in Japan.

meh they can keep bribing for all I care it still brings out the games and they make enough from XBL and gold anyway to continue to bribe more japanese companies.. plus you should be happy that MS money helps funds games on other platforms

they have a new xbox mascot mr Sanrokumaru

Im not a big fan of Monster Hunter but hopefully this boosts 360 sales in Japan, 360 is a great system that they need to try out

oh those of you with japanese XBL accounts might wanna head over there and see whats new..  certainly the xbox famitsu team will be reporting about this

and there's a special Capcom and Microsoft page up too

gears of war people appearing in Lost Planet 2 ?? there's a vid up about it plus the monster hunter theme and pictures are available to purchase too.

I guess they can't stop trying in Japan, but if I was them I'd really be focusing on US right now and UK in the run up to Natal.

Porting old PC titles doesn't make much sense to me (although I guess due to the ease with which PC titles can be ported to 360 it makes some sense from that angle) as it's hard to imagine the appeal of an older title, already out, on a platform with relatively low install base that is MMO.

I almost wonder if this is more about relatively simple and quick ways to get some headlines and show they're still trying rather than a sign of another big effort in Japan.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

I'm glad MS is continuing its push in Japan. Last gen they had little support from a lot of Japanese developers now they have plenty of support. I think MS having sold almost triple the amount of 360s over the Xbox has something to do with the support it gets. More than likely the 360 will sell over 2 million in Japan and that is a huge improvement over the Xbox.
