outsells GT5 confirmed
it's a totaly niche game, he can't be wrong this time,
but i am sure if many had the opportunity to play would love it.
Patcher saying a reasonable thing? What's wrong with the world?! I think this is the first time I'm not insulted by his "analysis": HR indead will struggle to sell, and most likely is huge commercial failure.
Just for the record, I kinda like Pachter. He seems to be a little biased toward 360, and I don't really like that, but otherwise I think he's a pretty likeable guy. I think it is a bandwagon sort of thing with hatred toward him. It probably started with one guy overreacting ridiculously about something he said and now everyone just flips out at the smallest thing he says. People get too fired up over stupid things. Anyways, The "bonus round" with Geoffe Keighley and Pachter and the other 2 guys is my favorite video game er...video to watch out of all game websites. They always discuss a lot of good stuff, and Geoffe Keighley's the man. Anyways, I want Pachter to be wrong more than anything, but I have a bad feeling that he may be right (although his prediction about HR not selling well isn't really his prediction, many have already been saying it for a while...). I will be picking HR up day one. The game looks and sounds amazing. Anybody that doesn't know everything about this game should look it up. Or just send me a msg and I'll explain everything haha. The game is a redefinition of what a typical game is, and is doing things never done before in video games. Not to mention the graphics are gonna be insane. I think everyone should at least give this game a try. At least give it a rent to give it a fair chance, right? Support a developer who tries to help change and innovate the vidoe game industry for the sake of us gamers. If u don't like it, take it back, what's a few bucks? But I have feeling that the people who give it a try will be real happy they did. I'm with you CGI!
I think Sony have taken a good approach with Heavy Rain - it's no doubt a tough sell, it's nothing like what we're used to and it focuses on things like... being a dad. However some of my friends are talking about the game, and they don't normally follow games that often, but I guess it's looking different and being different is appealing to people.
As nishe as it is, to me it has the potential to be the complete opposite - it plays like a movie or book, and everyone watches movies and reads books. It's an interactive story, and provided they can nail the depth, the character developement, get a good demo out there and strong reviews, it should hold it's own.
It's safest to say it'll struggle to sell though, I think the biggest problem is the fact it's on the PS3. I just don't think the audience is right, albeit I'm not sure what console it would suit... PS2 in it's prime I guess.

See, that's a whole different beast. The way things are going, I'm beginning to think that GT5 isn't going to sell anything at all this gen, because it will only be released in a bundle with Duke Nukem Forever and Sadness.
Complexity is not depth. Machismo is not maturity. Obsession is not dedication. Tedium is not challenge. Support gaming: support the Wii.

I'm surprised someone even remebered Sadness. However, it is not even close to the legendary status of Duke Nukem Forever or GT5.
MikeB predicts that the PS3 will sell about 140 million units by the end of 2016 and triple the amount of 360s in the long run.
