So, the rumors are true. Microsoft sent out a media advisory Monday afternoon announcing X10, an expo for showing off upcoming Xbox 360 games and add-ons (that'd be Project Natal) this year.

Microsoft hasn't held the big Xbox event since X06 in 2006. X07 was canceled.

It ain't CES or PDC or MIX – X10 will run just four hours long on a Thursday afternoon, Feb. 11. It's at the Terra event center in San Francisco.

Some notable games on tap: "Alan Wake," "Crackdown 2," "Fable III," "Halo: Reach," "Splinter Cell Conviction," "Final Fantasy XII" and more. (And I'm sure all y'all gamers know today's the day "Mass Effect 2" hits shelves.")

And X10 on the 11th for the U.S., Microsoft is bound to announce some new material. Odd that it would all be so close. I'm guessing the Gamefest is more of a demostration and just talking, X10 is where there will be some announcements.
