It will probably be Gears 3 announced at GDC. That's where Gears 2 was announced, and by the time comes out, it will be the same ammount of time as between 1 and 2.

That would be great. Then maybe I could get Gears 2 in the cheap at the end of the year.

Don't get me wrong, I loved Gears 1 (also bought it for cheap). It's just not a game I want to spend a lot of money on, as I will not play the multiplayer and the single player is not very long.
