This was an instant purchase for me the day I laid eyes on this beautiful fighter.

"It's a simple, elegant control scheme (three attack buttons and a "partner" button) and many of its characters' special moves are performed using the same motions and button combinations, but each character still has a very unique feel."

I wonder how far the motion controls go?

Probably just for key moves, if I remember so reviews of the first release correctly. Obviously they are optional since you can use the CC and fighting sticks.

Oh dear God you guys cant be serious.....

This game doesnt have motion controls.

I stated I was just trying to remember. So how does the game control with just the Wiimote?

You just play with the Wiimote sideways.

I'm still on the fence on this game. I think the gameplay might be more technical than I like in a fighter.

I'm glad that those who dig technical fighters are getting a game that caters to them, though.

I didn't really like Street Fighter 4, but I'm kinda pumped for this game.  I think it's just because I can use Chun Li, Viewtiful Joe, and Frank West in the same video game.  And I'm kinda interested in all the classic 70s manga/anime characters due to their wacky costumes.  I guess after playing Brawl I'm just a sucker for multi-generational all-star rosters now.

So which button does what?

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

"the fact that it's on the Wii" was that line even necessary?

No, it wasn't. That's why this review isn't about them dropping their Wii hate.

Quick! Someone say it's just fact and not taking stab.

Haha..err well I guess you could find this on the net easily but allow to me give a rough explanation.

1 = Light/Medium attack (I guess? They might more official terms but generally this attack is weaker and faster)

2 = Heavy Attack. (Slower Stronger)

1+2 = Hyper Special. Depending one what direction of the D-Pad your holding it will do 1 of your three specials.  SUPER HYPER ULTRA SPECIAL requires 3 energy bar things to be filled up. While the regular special are usually vary on power you can guarantee these will rape

B = Partner Assist

Back+ B = Switch Partner. This is my only issue it seems really rough and I struggle pulling it off. Though I might just suck =P

Back+B = Advanced Guard on defense too. Really crucial on reducing damage from special or knocking back opponents.

Thats roughly it I guess. Essentially Wiimote alone is the equivalent of Easy Mode on the old VS games and Classic Controller/GCN = Manual Modes. I find the Wiimote configuration to work extremly well because playing a VS games on any of the previous controllers was utter garbage.

VS games are meant for Arcade Sticks but the Wiimote is the first control other than that of a stick to actually work.

What about control on a stick with more buttons? Is it just the usual setup for other fighters?

Dont have an arcade stick for (sadly) so I cant say.
