Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Joystiq gives glowing review of Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom

Looks like Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom is shaping up to be the definitive non-Brawl fighting game for Wii, if Joystiq's review is anything to go by.

Some notable quotes:

"Looking at its roster and the fact that it's on the Wii, it would be easy to dismiss Tatsunoko vs. Capcom as a gimmicky fighting game, but it's an honest-to-goodness hardcore entry that is among the very best Capcom has made in recent years. It's easy to get into, yet surprisingly deep and steeped in fan service. It's also one of the nicest looking games (so far) on Nintendo's console."

"If you've been following this game since its announcement as I was, you're going to be very, very happy; it's everything I could have asked for, and a real standout on Wii."

Oh yeah, checking this game out for sure now.

yes it does, that is why it is being rereleased in Japan with all of the western additions

I HAVE A DOUBLE DRAGON CAB IN MY KITCHEN!!!!!!

NOW A PUNISHER CAB!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"It's a simple, elegant control scheme (three attack buttons and a "partner" button) and many of its characters' special moves are performed using the same motions and button combinations, but each character still has a very unique feel."

I wonder how far the motion controls go?

I played the original one.Great fun with GC and Arcade controllers.Definitely buying this one and wanna try all the control scheme.

soooooooo what review score did they give this game? it sounds like a 9/10 or 10/10 they way they said its the best vs series fighting game in recent years

I'm still on the fence on this game. I think the gameplay might be more technical than I like in a fighter.

I'm glad that those who dig technical fighters are getting a game that caters to them, though.

"The worst part about these reviews is they are [subjective]--and their scores often depend on how drunk you got the media at a Street Fighter event."  — Mona Hamilton, Capcom Senior VP of Marketing

Did you read about Capcom wanting to add Phoenix and some other character in the game if nintendo allowed adding down-loadable content to the game?

Interesting! I wonder if the game will be a big seller for Nintendo to greenlit this?

Joystiq doesn't give scores for their reviews. They let the body of the review speak for the quality of a game.

I'm not really into fighters too much, but I'm getting really hyped for this one, since it's accessible and a lot of fun by all accounts.
