Also set your TV to 4:3 if it doesn't do it automatically. I have to do it with my Samsung or it stretches the screen.

Change the aspect ratio and turn on the smooth option if you have it on your TV, it evens the pixel edges somewhat.
errr I recall my PS2 making PS1 games better looking.... PS3 should do the same.
Not saying it won't be fugly, but it should be better than when ran on a PS1.
Now try it on an SD tv if you have one arround, that'll tell you if it's the HD or not.
