Soul Caliber imo, but Tekken is the best fighter with out weapons.

The only Tekken I've ever played was Tekken 6, and I liked it. Does that mean I would really like Tekken 5?

I think would enjoy Tekken 5. Better than 6, IMO.
Too bad you missed the series' peak, which is Tekken 3 on the PS.

Yeah I missed it, I was an N64 person.

Well I plan on getting into the Tekken series eventually, so I'll check the fifth one out when I do.

the absense of smash bros there is sad :(

It's there, it just wasn't originally. I'm tallying the votes for it in the OP.

Hrmm, thats a tough one. As much as VF fan boys like myself hate to admit it I have to say Tekken. Tekken is really the poor mans VF. VF is just better balanced and deeper, it also takes out a lot of the cheap super moves Tekken has. The style isn't as over the top as well.

edit: Listen to the guy above me he said it better. Every character in VF is pretty unique and you are rewarded for playing to its strengths more then any other fighting game. If you like that then you will like VF.

Not dissing your opinion or anything. Infact, Tekken came around shortly after VF and VF fans have been saying similar stuff for year.

Just wanted to point out that Tekken's always had a sorta anime feel to it with the characters and over the top moves. They made that even more clear in Tekken6 when they threw in Lars and Lili. Tekken's always been on the more cartoony/anime-ish side of 3D fighters.

Not saying you're wrong. I've never really gotten into VF so I can't make comparisons. I have VF5 but just couldn't enjoy it as much as I was with Tekken5 at the time. I just think it's a bit wrong to knock a game for what it wants to be rather than what it's doing wrong. It's about as bad as knocking down Killzone2 not because it's a bad game, but because it doesn't play enough like Call of duty.

I go with SF, no matter how many different fighting games i play, i get the urge to do Hadouken motion or other SF motion movements and play the way i would in a SF game.

Street Fighter... one time a friend and I were playing till round 99... didn't go higher then that, all the rounds after that it kept saying round 99..
