Nice. I can proberly watch some good movies this way and not spend $15+ everytime I watch a movie

I don't think so.

On a side note, I think it's pretty cool now that the Americans have Netflix, the UK has iPlayer, and the Japanese have that video/music channel thing of their own.

Hopefully more companies will come forward to add channels to the Wii.

The link goes strieght to the nintendo site. The offcial one. I doubt nintendo will lie about this or bring up a rumor

It will allow the Wii to stream movies from the Netflix website.  The Wii will not be able to play DVDs.

The drive itself is actually capable, as some of the homebrew channel people know. What I could see Nintendo doing, though I do doubt it, is offering for sale through the Nintendo channel at some point, a DVD channel, which would be sold for about 1000 points, enough to cover the DVD licensing cost.
